Comprehensive hearing tests
A comprehensive hearing test performed by an Audiologist identifies and locates your hearing loss. A complete hearing test result will help your audiologist choose the best treatment for you, whether a medical solution or a hearing aid. Comprehensive hearing tests also provide baseline measurements to track changes in your hearing over time.
A comprehensive hearing test is a series of tests used to determine if you have hearing loss. This can be done in one or more settings. Your doctor may recommend a thorough evaluation if you have a history of ringing in the ears, noise sensitivity, difficulty understanding speech in noisy situations, or if there is a family history of hearing loss.
A complete evaluation usually consists of an interview with the doctor and an audiogram (hearing test), which measures your ability to hear sounds at frequencies between 0 and 8000 Hz. The audiogram shows whether your hearing threshold levels differ from those of other people who do not have any impairment.
